Our loving Edie went home to the Lord on Palm Sunday to be reunited with her beloved husband, Chuck, Papa, Mama and her siblings who were waiting for her arrival.

Edie was the last living first-generation member of the Giuseppe and Frances Pietramala family. For the past few years she has yearned for them and is now at peace. She was born on the west side of Salt Lake City and was proud of her Italian heritage and her childhood neighborhood.

Her crazy antics brought love and laughter to any gathering. She was a little person with a bigger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. She always had one more funny song to sing or a wild story to share. She would tell how she met her husband, Chuck, using him as a shield while running away from some other boys at school. They married Sept. 2, 1950 and enjoyed nearly 72 years of marriage together. They were blessed with three children: Chuck Dover, Jr. (Tina), JoAnn Bussell (Carlos) and DiAnn Calacino (Angelo). She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will continue the legacy of family with gatherings and times together.

Edie enjoyed being a beautician in her early years. Later she owned and operated Giuseppe’s Restaurant for nearly 15 years with her son. Her love of children led her to raise foster children. They always were special to her and she would recall them with fond memories.

Chuck and Edie enjoyed 38 years of retirement. They traveled to many places in their motorhome. They traveled to Europe, Canada and Mexico. These trips were enhanced by stops along the way to visit family and friends. The time they devoted to others earned them lots of love and special memories.

Special thanks to the staff and friends at Active Home Health Care and the Abbington for caring for Edie. Thanks to all who cared for her and took the time to visit and call her.

A viewing and funeral Mass were held at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Taylorsville, Utah. Internment was at Mt Calvary Cemetery in Salt Lake City, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at St. Martin’s.

Make a donation in her memory to The Catholic Foundation of Utah for Knights of Columbus Scholarship KNCC #10800, 27 C Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103.
