SALT LAKE CITY — The Diocese of Salt Lake City’s Commission for People with Disabilities annually hosts a “Catholics Can Mass,” but this year there will be two such Masses. The first will be Sept. 20 in Salt Lake City; the other will be Oct. 12 in Price. The Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, will celebrate both Masses.

SALT LAKE CITY — This spring, Saint Vincent de Paul Middle School students began a gardening project that transformed a plot of weeds into a school garden. The project soon attracted many donations and has begun to benefit Catholic Community Services’ Saint Vincent de Paul dining hall.

OGDEN — With more than 700 children enrolled in religious education classes, Saint Joseph Parish in Ogden faced overfull classrooms in an outdated building just north of the church. Fundraising for a new facility began more than 10 years ago, but it wasn’t until this year that the parish broke ground for a 17,000-square-foot building that will host not only classrooms but the parish offices.

LAYTON — “This week offered a powerful and unique opportunity for sharing Jesus Christ to our children, volunteers and catechists,” Father Clarence Sandoval, pastor of Saint Rose of Lima, said about the parish’s inaugural vacation Bible school. “Every time I entered our Education Center I felt a love, joy and God’s spirit in the volunteers, adults and especially our children.”
