Father Yarce celebrates 20 years of priesthood

SALT LAKE CITY — Ordained February 22, 1992 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Ogden by the Most Rev. William K. Weigand, seventh Bishop of Salt Lake City, Father Eugenio Yarce has since then been serving in Utah.

SALT LAKE CITY – Six months ago, Radio Feca began broadcasting the Sunday Mass in Spanish from the Cathedral of the Madeleine. With the help of Gregory Glenn, director of liturgy and music at the cathedral, the station reaches many Latin America countries as it broadcasts not only the Mass but religious-themed music and messages of faith.

BOUNTIFUL — Devin Harris, Utah Jazz NBA All-Star point guard, scored a big surprise for students at Saint Olaf School on March 1. Students gathered in the gym for an ordinary assembly. The question on all their minds was, "What is going on?" as television media arrived. When Principal Nancy Emery stepped to the microphone, and Harris was introduced as their reward for being one of the 12 schools in the state to have a Jazz player visit them as winners of the Jazz Read-a-thon Contest, the stunned students cheered loudly. The Jazz All-Star congratulated them for reading a combined total of 188,882 minutes during February.

The Judge Memorial Catholic High School hockey team, coached by Todd Brown, had an outstanding 2011-2012 season, capturing the team’s first state championship in over two decades. Along the way, the squad claimed an overall record of 15-2-1, including exhibition games.

Con la ayuda y apoyo de Gregory Glenn, director de liturgia y música de la catedral, la esta-ción fue lanzada llegando a muchos lugares en latinoamerica transmitiendo no solo la Misa sino música religiosa y mensajes de fe.
