SALT LAKE CITY – Weather is something that everyone talks about. The fourth-grade class at Saint Olaf School has not only been talking about the weather, but also learning many different facts about weather and meteorology from their teacher, Jeriel Turner. Their studies culminated with a recent visit to KSL’s Weather Lab, where they learned more about weather and weather forecasting from KSL Meteorologist Grant Weyman.

>>>Cosgriff 8th-graders' letters were answered Feb. 17 when the Most Rev. John C. Wester, bishop of Salt Lake City, visited their classroom to discuss stewardship. The students, who had discussed stewardship in their religion class, had asked the bishop to visit while writting formal letters as part of an English assignment. >>>PROVO — Juan Diego Catholic High School’s swim coach John Moran was awarded the 3A girls Coach of the Year following the state championship at Brigham Young University Feb. 4-5. Juan Diego junior Kelsey Leeson won the state championship in the 200-yard and 50-yard freestyle, and anchored the 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relays, with first- and second- place finishes, respectively.
>>>SANDY — Science and math came to life at the second annual Family Math & Science Night at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, on Feb. 10. The evening was overseen by the School Board and was a huge success, with more than 200 parents and students, in grades preK through eighth, participating. There were more than 20 hands-on activities, including experiments in chemistry with the creation of a gum drop molecule and chemical reactions with the making of goo.
