Alma C. Parisi

WEST WEBER — Alma Colleni Parisi, 87, died Dec. 28 at her home. She was a member of Saint Mary Parish.

Parisi was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Ogden to August and Maria Rozza Colleni. She grew up in Ogden and at the age of 9, moved with her family to the farm they purchased in West Weber. She married Silvio J. Parisi Nov. 9, 1940, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Ogden, where they lived for 68 years. He preceded her in death, Nov. 5, 2008. Parisi taught catechism and was chosen as the Woman of the Year by the Council of Catholic Women. She was a volunteer at Ogden Regional Medical Center. She worked with her brother at Top of the World Supply in West Ogden. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, quilting, and needlework. She was a 4-H leader in Weber County for 50 years, and was a member of Saint Madeline’s Guild and the Trentini Italians of Utah.

She is survived by two daughters, Marcia Parisi, Ogden, and Elaine (Thomas J.) Halliday, Eden; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Magagna; and sister-in-law, Jeane Colleni Brunson, of Ogden.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint James Catholic Church. Interment was in Ogden City Cemetery.
