Anthony A. Pardini

OGDEN — Anthony A. Pardini, 96, died July 15, at Manor Care Nursing Center, Ogden. He was a member of St. James Parish.

Pardini was born Oct. 10, 1910, in Torree de Lago Puccini, Italy, to Armando and Evelina Benedetti Pardini. He came to America at age 14 in 1924, through Ellis Island, N.Y., and began studying English. In 1931, he graduated at age 21 from Ashton High School in Ashton, Idaho. He married Delfa Orsi Jan. 16, 1937, in Ogden. During the depression, he joined the CCC Camp for three years. He then worked for the Pacific Fruit Express before working at Southern Pacific Railroad in 1943. He also worked as a fireman, and later as an engineer retiring in 1975 after 33 years. He was a eucharistic minister, in charge of bingo, and was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus.

Pardini is survived by his wife of 70 years, Delfa, three daughters, AnnaMarie (Lewis) Atkinson, Rock Springs, Wyo., Antonette (Lester) Vaccari, San Bruno, Calif., and Angelina (Jerry) Alkema, Colo.; sister, Laura Brinkman; sister-in-law, Marta Martinelli, Calif.; niece, Barbara Burdick; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. James Catholic Church. Interment was in Lindquist Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch. A donation fund has been set up in Pardini’s name to St. James Catholic Church.
