Coats for Kids — Thursday, Nov. 14, 3-5:30 p.m. in St. Rose of Lima Parish’s rotunda, 210 S. Chapel St., Layton. The Knights of Columbus will distribute coats size 4 through size 2XL on a first-come, first served basis. The parent/guardian must be present for a child to receive a coat.

Thanksgiving Holiday — The diocesan Pastoral Center will close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. It will reopen on Monday, Dec. 2 at 8:30 a.m.

Holy Day of Obligation — Monday, Dec. 9 is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Check your parish for Mass times.

Diocesan Advent Retreat — Saturday, Dec. 14 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9800 South 1700 East, Sandy, 9 a.m. to noon, beginning with a bilingual Mass with Bishop Oscar A. Solis presiding. The theme is “Preparing to Become Pilgrims of Hope.” The retreat in English will be presented in the parish hall by Fr. Langes Silva, the diocesan judicial vicar. The retreat in Spanish will be presented in the church by Fr. Victor Alvarado, parochial vicar of St. Joseph Parish, Ogden. Free.

Lay Dominican Information Session — Every third Sunday of the month immediately following the 10:45 a.m. Mass, Our Lady of Victory Lay Dominican Chapter will have an open house/ information session in the gathering space of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 170 S. Shoe Donations Needed — Catholic Community Center of Utah’s Weigand Resource Center is in need of men’s sneakers and boots for clients experiencing homelessness. Donations can be dropped off at 437 West 200 South, SLC weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other high-priority needs include toothpaste, shampoo and bar soap.

Abba Women’s Prayer Group meets every Monday (except holidays) at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph room at St. Lawrence Mission, 5 South 100 West, Heber. Call Olga Hibl at 209-480-8972 for information.

The Diocese of Salt Lake City is invited to shop at the Ladies of Charity of Northern Utah’s Center of Hope Thrift Store on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 74 S. Orchard Dr., North Salt Lake. Donations of gently used clean and folded clothing also are accepted.
