The Madeleine Choir School Open House — Sunday, Nov. 10, 1-3 p.m.  A brief information session will begin at 1:15 p.m. with Principal Megan Randazzo and Pastoral Administrator Gregory Glenn.  Current MCS parents will provide tours of the campus and answer questions about the academics, community and much more at MCS.

Veterans Day Breakfast — Sunday, Nov. 10 after the 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council 12181; free.

Eccles Organ Festival — Sunday, Nov. 10, 5:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple. The performance by Johann Vexo, choir organist at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, will include Suite Op. 5 by Maurice Duruflé and a transcription of Mendelssohn’s Variations sérieuses Op. 54. Free and open to the public.

Faith & Film Night — Wednesday, Nov. 13, 6 p.m. Msgr. Fitzgerald Conference Room, Chancery Building, 303 E. South Temple, SLC. “Lindy Lou – Juror Number 2.” Sponsored by the Office of Life, Justice & Peace. Discussion will follow. Free.

Taize Prayer — Friday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. All ages are welcome to join in this hour of music, candlelight and reflection. Admission is free.

Annual Family Party — Friday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish’s social center, 514 24th St., Ogden. Doors open at 6 p.m. Games, prizes, raffles and food. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council 777.

Annual Bake Sale & Bazaar — Saturday, Nov. 16, 11 a.m. at Copperton Lions Club, 8725 Hillcrest St., Copperton.  Sponsored by Immaculate Conception Church Ladies’ Altar Society. Come early and enjoy a homemade breakfast burrito with juice or coffee starting at 10:30 a.m.

Rosary and Holy Hour — Sunday, Nov. 17, 3 p.m. at the Carmelite monastery, 5714 Holladay Blvd., SLC. All are invited to join the Knights of Columbus Council 5214 and the Carmelite nuns to praise God, honor his Mother and pray for our Holy Catholic Church.

St. Cecilia’s Day Concert — Sunday, Nov. 17, 8 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC; presented by the Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine featuring the Choristers of the Madeleine Choir School. Free and open to the public, but passes are required and will be available to the general public on Nov. 4. Early access to passes for this concert and other performances, including the Christmas Carol Services on Dec. 16 and 17, may be obtained by making a donation to the school’s ‘Friends Annual Fund.’ For passes, visit utmcs.org.

“Footloose, the Musical” — Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 21-23, 7 p.m.; Sunday Nov. 24, 2 p.m. at Juan Diego Catholic High School, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. STEM Night — for children grades K-8; hosted by Judge Memorial CHS’ Judgement Call Robotics. Friday, Nov. 22, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the school, 650 South 1100 East, SLC. Pastoral Center Closed — The Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center will close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. It will reopen Monday, Dec. 2, at 8:30 a.m.

Mass at Our Lady of the Snows — The celebration of the Eucharist on Sundays will resume at Our Lady of the Snows Chapel in Alta on Sunday, Dec. 1 and will continue through the end of April.  Mass is at 5 p.m. The chapel is located directly across from the Alta Lodge.  Mass on Christmas and Easter will be at 10 a.m.

Msgr. Benvegnu Lecture — Monday, Dec. 2, 7 p.m. “Saints Were People Too” at St. Vincent Parish Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. Fr. John Norman, pastor, will examine the lives of a number of saints to gain insight into each of their faith responses regarding vocation and discernment. Free and open to the public.

“The Nutcracker” — Friday, Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Juan Diego CHS, 11800 South 300 East. Performed by Utah Artists School of Ballet. Tickets $12 adults; $8 children, seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased at JDCHS, Utah Artists School of Ballet, 9333 South 1300 East or online at utahartistschoolof ballet.com.

Volunteer at Give Me A Chance — Volunteer in the after-school program, listen to children read for 20 minutes, assist students with homework, participate in play activities. The after-school program runs Monday-Thursday, 3-5:30 p.m. and serves children in grades K-6.
