To help the nuns, the Carmelite Fair Committee created a GoFundMe account, https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/carmelite-nuns-fundraiser. Donations also can be sent to the Carmelite Monastery, 5714 Holladay Blvd., SLC, UT 84121.
Catholic Day at Lagoon Cancelled — In accordance with the Utah Department of Health recommendations to avoid spread of the coronavirus, the Knights of Columbus Council 602 has cancelled the annual Catholic Day at Lagoon. The event, the council’s biggest fundraiser, helps the council sponsor the diocesan Seminarian Fund, donate to the Special Olympics, Coats for Kids Program and Ultrasounds Pro-life Program, and finance the “Keep Christ in Christmas” campaign, among other things. The Knights hope that the annual Catholic Day at Lagoon will resume next summer, on July 18, 2021.
