Dedication of Statue — Saturday, Aug. 14, 10 a.m. at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 624 W. Lennox St., Midvale. A new statue of the parish’s patron saint will be dedication. A small reception will follow.

Women’s Summer Summit — Thursday, Aug. 19, 6:30 p.m. St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 1505 White Pine Canyon Road, Park City. Confessions start at 5:30 p.m. With a theme of “Christ the Victor, conqueror of sin and death, liberator of men, king on the cross” this summit is open to all the women of the parish. Book Signing – Saturday, Aug. 21, 3-5 p.m. at Magdalene Religious Goods, 836 East 3300 South. Book-signing and reception to celebrate the release of Monastery Mornings, the new book about the Huntsville Trappist monks by Michael Patrick O’Brien.

Backpack Bonanza — Catholic Community Services’ annual drive to collect school supplies for children will run through Aug. 6. They are seeking backpacks, binders, folders, pencil boxes, paper, notebooks, colored pencils, glue sticks, markers, crayons, highlighters, rulers and scissors.  Donations can be dropped off weekdays, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., at Catholic Community Services, 2504 F Ave., Ogden, and Monday/Friday: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. or Tuesday-Thursday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at United Way of Northern Utah, 2955 Harrison Blvd #201, Ogden. Donations can also be made at any branch of Zions Bank or Wasatch Peaks Credit Union.

Volunteers Needed — The St. Vincent Homeless Center in Salt Lake City is in need of volunteers for multiple shifts. All safety protocols have been put into place.
