Seeking God in the Way of St. Benedict — Sunday, Aug. 18, 1 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, Ogden. Building on the legacy of the Sisters of St. Benedict who served the diocese for so many years, Sister Michaela Hedican, OSB, oblate director, will share about the Oblate way of life. All who may be interested in Benedictine spirituality are invited to attend.

Holy Cross Sisters & Associates Gathering — Saturday, Aug. 24, 9 a.m. to noon at Holy Cross Ministries, 860 East 4500 South, Ste. 204, SLC. Sr. Veronica Fajardo will share some of her experiences from the Sisters of the Holy Cross General Chapter. Donations for the St. Martha’s Project ministry welcome.

Run for the Nuns – Sunday, Sept. 15, 8 a.m. at the Carmelite monastery, 5714 Holladay Blvd., Holladay. The 5K Run/Walk through the neighborhoods surrounding the monastery kicks off the Carmelite Fair; followed by breakfast and medals ceremony. $25 entry fee. Scout Religious Emblems — Now is the time to begin working on your Girl Scout, Cub Scout and Scouts BSA religious emblems. Choir Director Needed — Immaculate Conception Church in Copperton is in need of volunteer choir director and musical accompanists, especially piano/keyboard player and/or guitarist. The choir director is responsible for planning all Mass liturgies, including the weekly 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass, holy day Masses and special occasions.  The director leads the choir during all liturgies, conducts regular practices, and participates as a member of the liturgy committee. Volunteer at Give Me A Chance — Volunteer in the after-school program, listen to children read for 20 minutes, assist students with homework, participate in play activities. The after-school program runs Monday-Thursday, 3-5:30 p.m. and serves children in grades K-6. Assistive Listening Devices — Up to 20 percent of all people have some degree of hearing loss. The Diocese of SLC Commission for People with Disabilities assists parishes with the purchase of assistive listening devices so that everyone can hear and understand what is spoken at Mass.
