Healing Mass — First Friday Sacred Heart of Jesus and Healing Mass, Friday, May 5, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 506 24th St., Ogden. Followed by lunch and a meeting with the Promotors of the League of the Sacred Heart. All are welcome.

First Saturday Devotion — Saturday, May 6, beginning with 9 a.m. Mass at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9757 South 1700 East, Sandy, followed by potluck breakfast in the church hall and discussion of the First Saturday devotion. All are welcome.

Filipino Mass — The regular First Sunday of the Month Filipino Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, May 7 at 3:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 670 South 1100 East, SLC. With the offering of flowers to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Fr. Rodelio Ignacio will preside.

Sacrament of Confirmation for Adult Catholics — The Sacrament of Confirmation for adult Catholics (no one younger than 17) will be celebrated on Saturday, May 20, at 1 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. The Sacrament of Eucharist also will be celebrated for those Catholics seeking to complete their Christian initiation.

Msgr. Mannion Jubilee — A reception for Msgr. M. Francis Mannion, who celebrates the 50th anniversary of his priestly ordination this year, will be held Sunday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish’s Holy Family Hall, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC.

Holy Hour — at the Carmelite chapel, 5714 S. Holladay Blvd., SLC. Sunday, May 21 at 3 p.m. Exposition, the rosary, and a short homily as well as the crowning of the Blessed Mother Mary. All are welcome.

Tutsi Genocide Awareness Presentation — Saturday, May 27, after the 5 p.m. Mass at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville. Presented by the St. Martin de Porres Rwandan community.

St. Rose of Lima Festival — Sunday, May 28, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel St., Layton, beginning at 10 a.m. with a bilingual Mass followed by a program featuring performances from various cultures. Potluck. Free and open to all.

Commemoration Mass — in memory of the genocide of the Tutsi people. Sunday, May 28, 11 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville.

Online Prayer Group — The Flame of Love online prayer group meets on the third Friday of every month at 7 p.m. MST and the third Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. Join members from Utah, across the United States, Canada and in Asia. The Diocese of Salt Lake City is sponsoring a contest for youth and young adults to tell about their experience with the Eucharist. Categories are essay, poetry, artwork, video, musical compositions and recorded performances. Prizes include a chance to present at the Eucharistic Revival Rally on July 9 at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy. Entry deadline is May 23. Volunteers Needed — Those wishing to volunteer with Catholic Community Services in the Ogden area may assist in the warehouse, sorting donated food items, tracking inventory, and assembling boxes and bags of food for clients. Catholic Community Services of Utah’s St. Martha’s Baby Project is in need of the following donations: newborn to three-month outfits, onesies, pajamas, baby shampoo, baby lotion, baby sunscreen, burp cloths, bibs, large reusable bags and baby quilts.
