Solemnity of St. Mary Magdalene — the Patronal Feast Day for the Cathedral of the Madeleine and the Diocese of Salt Lake City, will be celebrated Sunday, July 22. The principal Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. at the cathedral, 309 E. South Temple, with a parish dinner following the Mass.

Planning Your Calendar? — Msgr. Colin Fr. Bircumshaw, vicar general, reminds all pastors, deacons, principals, religious and laity charged with creating calendars for their parish, school or Catholic organization that in keeping with a longstanding policy, no local events should be scheduled to conflict with the annual Pastoral Congress, which is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15.

Assistive Listening Devices —Up to 20 percent of all people have some degree of hearing loss. The Commission for People with Disabilities assists parishes with the purchase of assistive listening devices so that everyone can hear and understand what is spoken at Mass. Volunteers Needed — Catholic Community Services of Utah (CCS) is in need of volunteers at our St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall. There has been a lot of media coverage on the Rio Grande area. We want you to feel assured our property is safe with gated parking and two security guards. We need 80 volunteers each day to serve 1,200 warm meals and ensure our homeless friends don’t go hungry.
