Retirement Celebration for Kathleen Kilby — Saturday, May 18, 2 -4 p.m. in the library at St. Francis Xavier Elementary School, 4501 West 5215 South, SLC. Mrs. Kilby will be retiring at the end of this school year. All are invited to participate in the celebration.

Mass of Thanksgiving — Sunday, May 26, 10:30 a.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 210 S. Chapel St., Layton, will be celebrated by Evan Cummings, CSP. There will be a reception following the Mass. The Rev. Mr. Cummings will be ordained a priest for The Missionary Society of Saint Paul the Apostle (Paulist Fathers) on May 18 at The Church of Saint Paul the Apostle in New York City.

Memorial Day Mass — Monday, May 27, 9 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 275 U St., SLC. All are invited.

Soaring Eagle All Sports Camp — May 28-31. Half-day camp – 9 a.m.-noon or noon-3 p.m.; full-day camp – 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost: $80 half-day session; $160 full-day session. Camp director Brandon Sluga. Registration deadline is May 24. Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord —Sunday, June 2. In our province the Solemnity of the Ascension of our Lord is transferred to the Seventh Sunday of Easter. Thursday, May 30 is observed as an Eastertime weekday.
