Festival 2019 — Saturday, Nov. 2 to celebrate the annual parish feast at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville. Mass to be celebrated by Fr. Jacek Buda, O.P.; followed by a Mexican dinner, music and entertainment at 7 p.m. On Sunday Nov. 3, the CCD children will learn more about St. Martin de Porres’ life in Lima, Peru. Pastoral Center Closed — The Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center will close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. It will reopen Monday, Dec. 2, at 8:30 a.m.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament — every Wednesday, 7-8 p.m. in Our Lady’s Chapel at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. Participants will pray the Rosary of the Unborn, Chaplet of the Unborn and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.  

Parish Games Night — every Saturday, 5-9:30 p.m. at St. Lawrence Mission, 5 South 100 West, Heber. The price for games and food is $15. All profits go to support the building fund for the new church.

Help Needed — Saint Joseph’s Villa, 451 Bishop Federal Lane, SLC, is in need of volunteers and liturgical musicians (volunteers) for the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass, particularly on the second and fourth week of each month. Volunteers help residents to and from their rooms to attend Mass. Ushers, lectors and Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist also are needed. For information, contact Fr. Assistive Listening Devices — Up to 20 percent of all people have some degree of hearing loss. The Diocese of SLC Commission for People with Disabilities assists parishes with the purchase of assistive listening devices so that everyone can hear and understand what is spoken at Mass.
