Parish Game Night — Saturday, Oct. 3, 7 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church’s social hall, 670 South 1100 East, SLC. Cost is $15 for games and $5 for dinner.

Friends of the Poor Walk — The Saint Vincent De Paul Society St. Mary Magdalene Conference will sponsor a Friends of the Poor Walk Oct. 3, with registration at 8:30 a.m. and the walk/run at 10 a.m. in Sugar House Park, 1300 East 2100 South, SLC. All proceeds will directly benefit people in the communities where the money is raised, and will be used to help those in need. Walking Toward Eternity — A series designed to develop and nurture characteristics essential to Christian life will be facilitated by Lisa Bachiller. The nine-week class is on Tuesdays starting Oct. 6, 6:30-8 p.m. at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish’s Culleton Hall CCD center, 7832 Allen St., Midvale. Free; optional workbook is $16. Fall Music Concert — Friday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m. in the Judge Memorial CHS auditorium, 650 South 1100 East, SLC. Performers include Judge Memorial’s Concert Choir, Jazz Band, Concert Band and Orchestra, and special guest soloist Courtney Isaiah Smith. Free and open to the public.

Spaghetti Dinner — Hosted by the Tooele Knights of Columbus. Saturday, Oct. 10 after Mass at Saint Marguerite Catholic Church, 15 S. 7th St., Tooele. All you can eat. Adults, $10; children 12 and under, $4. Proceeds will be used to aid Christians migrating from Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan and Syria into Europe.

Rosary Rally — Saturday, Oct. 10, noon at St. Ann Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South, SLC.

College Preparation Workshop — Saturday, Oct. 10, 9 a.m. – noon, the Skaggs Fine Arts Education Building, St. Joseph CHS, 1790 Lake St., Ogden. Free and open to the public. Topics include financing, admission procedures, essay writing and interviewing, applications, scholarships and grants. College representatives will be on campus to discuss specific colleges. DCCW Council Sunday — On Sunday, Oct. 18, parish and diocesan women’s organizations are asked to plan special events aimed at recognizing the good works they do, while increasing awareness and participation in their organization. Organ Fest VIII — Friday, Oct. 23, 8 p.m. at The Cathedral of the Madeleine at 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Features organists from the Salt Lake Tabernacle – Richard Elliott, Clay Christiansen, Andrew Unsworth, Bonnie Goodliffe and Linda Margetts, and the Cathedral of the Madeleine organist, Gabriele Terrone. The concert is free and open to the public.

CWL Luncheon — Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Little America Hotel, 500 S. Main St., SLC. Social hour is 11 a.m., followed by lunch and fashion show; $38 per person. Prayer for Vocations — A special period of prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations is underway in the diocese of Salt Lake City. Saint St. James the Greater Parish, First North 100 West, Vernal, has the devotion the week of Oct. 11. On Sunday, adoration will be 2:30 - 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, adoration will be 4 -8 p.m. Oct. 16-17, adoration will be held from 8:30 a.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday, followed by a Mass.
