Arthur Vincent Schweidler

PLEASANT VIEW — Arthur Vincent Schweidler, 91, died Nov. 9, from complications following surgery.

Schweidler was born Jan. 21, 1916, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Lillian Schweidler. He spent his childhood in Culver, Ind., where he learned many skills as an outdoorsman, sharpshooter, and expert angler. He graduated from Culver High School in 1934, and Indiana University in 1939, majoring in business administration. He married Marie Nesius Sept. 7, 1940, in Remington, Ind. He began his career at Alcoa Aluminum in Lafayette, Ind. In an effort to be closer to his family he returned to Culver, but then moved to Pacific Beach, Calif., where he was employed as a cost estimator with Convair Aircraft Company, now General Dynamics. Six years later he moved to Pleasant View, Utah, and was employed by Thiokol Chemical Corporation (now ATD) until his retirement in January, 1981, as a manager in the Contracts and Pricing department. Following his retirement he became a full time outdoorsman. During the summer he fished in Utah, Idaho, and Montana. In the fall he was an avid duck hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter, Mary Jo Schweidler, Fort Wayne, Ind.; son, Arthur V. Schweidler, Jr, Solvang, Calif.; daughter, Susan (Carter) Kilborn, North Ogden; grandchildren, Aaron, Christine, and Therese.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, Ogden. Interment was in Ben Lomond Cemetery.
