Betty Timper, 91, passed away June 19, 2017. She was born May 2, 1926 in East St. Louis, Ill. to Narel and Lillian Phillips. She married John E. “Jack” Timper, Sept. 2, 1946. Together they raised seven children.
Betty was the most wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Being with her family brought her the greatest joy. She was a devoted Catholic and very active in the Church. She was fun loving, with a wonderful sense of humor. She really enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack and their son Mark.
She leaves behind six children, Mary Kay Griffin, Peggy Oakden, John E. Jr., Barbara, Carol and Michael Timper; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated June 23 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Betty’s son, Mark Timper. Help end Alzheimer’s.
