Oct. 20, 1920 ~ February 2, 2019

In the early morning hours of February 2, 2019 we lost our sweet mother. She was in Apple Valley, California. All of her children were present. She had 98 beautiful years on this earth.

Billie was born October 17, 1920 in Lima, Ohio to Clifton Z. Kilgore and Burmah Mae Watkins.

She grew up in Dayton, Ohio. Billie graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton, where she met the love of her life James (Jim) Deal. In 1942 she married Jim at Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Dayton. They were happily married 36 years before Jim passed away in 1978.

She worked for the government Signal Corps for a number of years. Billie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (better known as Grammy) and sister. She was also a willing volunteer in different organizations. She served as president of the Altar and Rosary Society at Ascension Catholic  Church in Kettering, Ohio.  Billie was a volunteer at Saint Benedict’s Hospital in Ogden, and member and president of both the PBO Does Ogden 27 and Lady of Elks, Roy.

Besides living in Ohio she resided in San Bernardino and Apple Valley, California. When she and Dad moved to Utah they were members of Saint James the Just Parish in Ogden. After being a widow for a number of years, she met and married Louis Ridl and they shared 10 years together. She then moved to Clearfield and became a member of Saint Rose of Lima Parish.

Billie made beautiful ceramics, which we cherish, and also lovely afghans. We, her children, had to smile when we were cleaning her room. She had many religious statues, a dozen rosaries or more, scores of holy cards and daily prayer books. She said her rosary and prayers every day and prayed for so many people and causes, including her favorite priests in the Diocese of Salt Lake City and her special seminarian, Evan.

Billie is survived by her children, Bobbie (Don) Hunt of Layton; Sue Shuey of Apple Valley, California; Mike (Loretta) Deal of Billings, Montana; and Steve (Becky) Deal of Roy; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, both husbands and her little angel son, Raymond James (Butchie) Deal.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on  February 19, 2019 at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Layton.

Rest in Peace, Little Mama.
