Bishop Solis ordains priest for Voluntas Dei Institute

Bishop Oscar A. Solis receives a blessing from Father Alexis Ibarra, I.V.Dei after the Mass at which the bishop ordained the priest on June 17 in the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Bishop Solis was asked to celebrated the rite of the Laying on of Hands for the Order of Priest because the bishop who had been scheduled to ordain Fr. Ibarra was made a cardinal and was called to Rome. Traditionally the first blessing a new priest gives is to the bishop who ordained him. Fr. Ibarra has been assigned to St. Alphonse Parish in Los Angeles.
