Carmelite Fair

Religious goods were among the many items offered by vendors at the annual Carmelite Fair, which was held Sept. 18 on the monastery grounds in Holladay. For more than 30 years the annual Carmelite Fair has served as the main financial support for the Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Holladay. The fair offers children’s games, a live auction, entertainment by various performers and ethnic food as well as a prize giveaway. This year, winners of the raffle drawings were Chris Wilcox, Monica Cisneros,  Dolores Sanchez and Gino Chewing. Two events associated with the fair are the Golf for the Nuns tournament, which was held Sept. 17, and the Run for the Nuns  5K run/walk, which occurred just before the fair opened. This was the seventh year for the run and the fifth year for the golf tournament, both of which raise funds for the Carmelites.
