SALT LAKE CITY — Thousands of people came out on Sept. 15 for the annual Carmelite Fair at the Carmelite monastery in Salt Lake City. The day included silent and live auctions, food, stalls filled with jam, chocolates and handicrafts made by the nuns, along with other items made by volunteers, children’s games and entertainment. There was a special pause at noon for the Angelus, which was said by Mother Therese, OCD and Sister Mary Ann, OCD .

“The fair went very well this year, thanks to God’s blessings and the help from many volunteers and generosity of our benefactors,” Mother Therese said.  “We are very grateful to the love, prayers and generosity of God’s children and we assure them all of our prayers.”

Among the entertainers at the fair were  the Sil Lurn Kung Fu Kwoon Chinese Lion Dancers and Tablado Dance Company .
