Catherine Evelyn Goodwin was born Jan. 12, 1916 in Munson, Pa., to Joseph and Caroline Wesosky. She married William “Bud” Goodwin on Nov. 11, 1938 in Newport, Ky. Catherine lived out the final years of her life at St. Joseph Villa in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she loved to make people laugh and was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a devout Roman Catholic and an oblate in the order of St. Benedict. Her love of music and dance lives on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her son John Edward Goodwin (Keven); daughters Carolyn Goodwin Schubach and Mary Catherine Goldring (Steve); grandsons Patrick Goodwin, Peter Goodwin (Stephanie), Aaron Schubach, Nicholas Schubach (Dione), Andrew Goldring (Shirese); and great-grandchildren Emma Erin, Finley Moses and Evie Catherine Schubach.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
No rosary will be held. Catherine loved the rosary and requested that people be encouraged to say a rosary privately on her behalf.
