Deacon Retreat

It was a real joy for me to celebrate Mass with the permanent deacons and their wives during their annual retreat at Embassy Suites in Salt Lake City this past Saturday evening. Deacon Owen Cummings was the retreat master and as usual, he was very well received. I am filled with gratitude whenever I meet with our deacons and their wives, knowing of their selflessness and their great generosity in our diocese. You know firsthand how effective our deacons are in this local Church. And I am pleased for this opportunity to publicly thank them for their service in our midst. I pray that this past weekend gave them an opportunity to nourish their faith and to renew their commitment to their diaconal service in this diocese.
