Keynote speaker Ann Garrido addresses teachers and staff from the 16 Utah Catholic Schools who gathered at the Skaggs Catholic Center on March 4 for Professional Employee Day. After participating in a Mass celebrated by Bishop Oscar A. Solis, those gathered heard from Garrido, an associate professor of homiletics at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, Mo., who spoke on “Embracing Grace in Trying Times.” School Superintendent Mark Longe then thanked all of the employees for their extraordinary efforts during the pandemic. He went on to recognize employees who had served five, 10 and 15 years at Utah Catholic Schools. Employees of 20, 25 and 30 years received special awards and recognition.
