Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Edith Ann Riendeau Larsien, passed away on July 9, 2017.

Edith was born on Nov. 30, 1937, to Leodore Joseph Riendeau and Cecilia Mary Hamel. She was the oldest of seven children. Edith grew up on a farm in Gentilly, Minnesota. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Crookston, Minn., and attended St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul, Minn., after which she was employed as a copywriter at KROX radio station in Crookston, Minn., and then moved to KTHI television in Grand Forks, N.D.

Edith married James Larsien of Grand Forks, N.D., in 1959. They made their home in Grand Forks where they raised four children. Edith was a loving and devoted mother and wife. Edith lived in St. Paul, Minn., near many family members for 16 years. In 2005 she moved to north Ogden to be near her daughter Angela, son-in-law Blaine and three grandsons: Cole, Lance and Joseph.

Wherever she lived Edith made many dear friends, who enriched her life. She was exceptional in the sincere way she loved and valued everyone with whom she came in contact. She trusted the goodness in all people.

Edith was an active member of St. James the Just Catholic Church. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, and she treasured her many friends in the parish. Our heartfelt thanks to the many kind people who gave her rides to daily Mass and extended love and friendship to our mother.

Edith was preceded in death by her mother, Cecilia Riendeau; father, Leodore Riendeau; husband, James Larsien; and grandson, Hunter Perry.
