February 13, 1922 ~ October 9, 2018

Our loving matriarch Elizabeth (Isabella) A. Trujillo passed peacefully on October 9, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. She blessed her family and community with 96 years of life. She was born on February 13, 1922 in Sunnyside, Utah to Ysidro and Jesu Amador. She married Edward A. Trujillo Sr. on February 7, 1957 in Carbon County.

Liz thrived in her work at Smith’s, making her famous cheese balls, then becoming Magna’s most beloved cashier at Colosimo’s. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, where she pioneered the Cinco De Mayo celebration. Later, she moved to Grantsville, where she attended St. Marguerite Parish, thoroughly enjoying Father Ken’s sermons.

Liz’s greatest joys in life were creating memories with her family (especially her grandchildren), usually in the kitchen, cooking her famous Mexican dinners with a cup of coffee and biscotti in hand. Her favorite days were spent shopping for endless hours at Nordstrom, charming the sales staff along the way, followed by joyful lunches out charming everyone she encountered.

Her favorite girls Kacie, Bailey, Gabby and Rylee always ensured that her outside appearance reflected the precious jewel that Liz was on the inside. In the true spirit of Liz, she loved dancing the night away to Mexican music in one of her many beautiful outfits. The last few years of her life were spent on the Sadler ranch in Grantsville, surrounded by the country beauty. She enjoyed endless hours sitting outside taking in the mountain views and ordering everyone around, including our beloved furry family companion Ginger. Living with Adam and Sandra brought mom’s life great joy and purpose. A special thank you to Liz’s beloved friend and caregiver Kacie Hammond and to all the Harmony Home Health staff that helped take care of our strong, stubborn Liz: Barbara, Jordan, Heather, Susie, Bobby and Cal.

She is survived by her children: Sherri Bartholomew, Sue (Mike) Walker, Salvador (Dodie) Martinez, Eddie (Rhonda) Trujillo Jr., and Sandra (Adam) Sadler, along with her grandchildren: Karissa, Kordell, Katelynn, Tyler, Isis, Melanie, Sam, Cal and Lacie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who lovingly referred to her as Grandma or Aunt Liz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ysidro and Jesu Amador; siblings Katie (Doug) McArther, Jeanie (Al) Reifschneider, Salvador and Leo Amador; her husband and many beloved family members and friends.

The funeral Mass was celebrated October 15, 2018 at Saint Marguerite Catholic Church, Tooele.

I will love you always and forever; te amo por siempre y para siempre.
