Felicidad Soriano Hipol

Felicidad (Fely) Soriano Hipol, 71, went to be with her Lord after a long battle with cancer on March 12, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones in Salt Lake City. 
She was married to Antonio Hipol on May 4, 1980 in Naguilian, La Union, Philippines. They shared 36 years of marriage together. 
Born on March 7, 1946 in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, she was the daughter of Juan and Anacleta Soriano. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Baguio Central University and was an elementary school teacher for many years. She moved to the United States after her marriage to Antonio. She worked as an accounting control clerk at American Express in New York, then she and her husband transferred with the company to Salt Lake City. Later in her career, she went back to school to pursue her associate’s degree as a medical assistant from Eagle Gate College. She worked for Caregiver Support Network and truly enjoyed taking care of her patients. 
Fely belonged to the Cathedral of the Madeleine Parish. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to church, spending time with family, and cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also spent many years volunteering in her community. She was very involved in the Filipino American community as well as the Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her selfless acts of kindness and her famous baklava. 
She is survived by her spouse, Antonio Hipol; and two children, Feli Anne and Wing (boyfriend); A.R. and Roxanne (daughter-in-law); two sisters, Leticia Rivera (Philippines) and Clarita Soriano (France); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Anacleta Soriano; and her brother, Romeo Angelito Soriano.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on March 16 at the Cathedral of the Madeleine.
