January 8, 1937 ~ December 7, 2023

Francis (Frank) Gregory Fuller Jr., a long-time resident of Cottonwood Heights, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on the evening of December 7, 2023. He was 86 years old.

Born on January 8, 1937, to Lillian B. Hartnett and Francis G. Fuller Sr. in Beardstown, Illinois, Frank shared his birthday with Elvis Presley. The second oldest of six siblings, Frank attended St. Vincent’s Seminary College, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, pursuing his deep spiritual calling. His years at the seminary left him with the ability to recite Scripture and prayer in Latin.

A resident of Chicago for most of his early life, Frank joined the U.S. Army at the age of 20, serving as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles). His service took him to France, where he met his future wife, the mother of his two children. He then worked for American Airlines for 33 years, so his children could visit their family in France every summer. A sentimental father with a sense of humor, he supported his children in all their endeavors.

He started at the O’Hare Airport and then moved his family from Elgin, Illinois to Salt Lake City, where he enjoyed fly fishing, golf and racing on the master’s ski circuit in his retirement. His brothers from Chicago would visit each ski season and, when not challenging each other on the slopes, spent entire days roaming from one movie theater to another. Watching five movies each outing was not uncommon.

He also enjoyed what could best be described as gourmet hunting with his French chef friends. He loved gourmet food and, occasionally, a Long Island iced tea. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears and the Utes football team. Fortunately, he was not a gambler but always desired to hit royal flush. Frank’s heart continued to always turn to service. He was an active member of the St. Thomas Moore Parish and belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Florence and his brothers Edward and Robert. He is survived by his daughter Nathalie Fuller, his son Eric Fuller, future daughter-in-law Elizabeth Kasparian, granddaughter Nicole Fuller, his brother Richard Fuller and sister Geraldine Kay.

Frank’s life was full of adventure, love and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who know him. May his soul rest in peace. Service will be in the spring in Chicago, Illinois.
