SALT LAKE CITY — George Mathew Pryanovich, 93, died Dec. 1, due to complications from a fall. Pryanovich was born July 19, 1913, in Salt Lake City. He graduated from West High School in 1931. He was drafted into the U.S. Army prior to the war, and served in the 17th Field Artillery Observation Battalion. He was part of Gen. George Patton’s Third Army, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he was employed at Buehner Block, working and polishing stonework for many city structures. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Liston and Helen Pixton; brother, Fred; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at Neil O’Donnell and Sons Mortuary. Committal was in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
