Greek Orthodox Archbishop Visits Cathedral + Enlarge
On July 20, His Eminence, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America (right) tours the Cathedral of the Madeleine with the Most Rev. Oscar A. Solis (center), 10th Bishop of Salt Lake City. This was the first visit to Utah of the leader of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America since his appointment in 2019. Deacon Lynn Johnson guided the tour of the cathedral.

On July 20, His Eminence, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America (right) was welcomed to Utah by the Most Rev. Oscar A. Solis (center), 10th Bishop of Salt Lake City, at a reception at the Catholic diocese’s Pastoral Center. This was the first visit to Utah of the leader of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America since his appointment in 2019. Those attending the reception included members of the Catholic diocese, the Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable board of directors and the Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake. After the reception, the archbishop was given a tour of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, led by Deacon Lynn Johnson and accompanied by Bishop Solis.
