SALT LAKE CITY — Horacio Giron, 79, passed away July 26, 2012.

Giron was born Aug. 7, 1932 to Joe A. and Dulcinella Ortiz Giron, in Petaca, N.M. He married Rose Mary Gabaldon in 1953.

Giron is survived by children Jerry (Melaine), Mike, Debbie (Mark) Casey, Jeannette Giron, Tom, Gloria (Mark) Montoya, Paul and David; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings Lola Benavides, Maria Barela, Mrs. Anna (Jose) Giron, Arcela Archuleta, Jenny Herrera, Ellizama (Gilbert) Archuleta, Robert Giron, Ruth (Randy) Trusdell, Diane Sanchez.

Giron was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jose R. Giron.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Francis Xavier Church.
