PRICE — James Harold Stevenson, 57, died Nov. 24.

Stevenson was born June 16, in Dragerton, Utah, to Harold Thomas and Mary Stella Stevenson. He married Gaile Lorain Anderson Aug. 16, 1972, in Elko, Nev. He was a lifelong resident of Carbon County, and a graduate of East Carbon High School class of 1968. He attended the College of Eastern Utah where he played basketball. One of his greatest enjoyments was coaching little league baseball for 12 years, and the thrill of taking his team to the Little League World Series in 1989. He was a fourth generation coal miner who worked at Kaiser Steel from 1969 through 1992. He was a retired member of the UMWA Local #9958 and was elected as the International Auditor in 1992 for the United Mine Workers of America where he served two terms, and served as the UMWA Safety Representative and organizer.

He is survived by his wife, Lorain Stevenson; three sons, one daughter, and their spouses, Kade (Beca) Stevenson, Casey (Lacey) Stevenson, Brandon (Cassidy) Stevenson, Lacey (Kalib) Curtis; brother, Larry Stevenson; in-laws, James B. (Arline) Anderson; brother-in-law, Jim Anderson; and six grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Committal was in Price City Cemetery.
