James Thomas (JB) Bacus 
January 1, 1935 ~ February 8, 2020
James Thomas Bacus, 85, passed away February 8, 2020. He was born January 21, 1935 in Gillette, Wyoming, to Jean and Ivah Bacus.  
Beloved husband, father and grandfather, he passed away after fighting glioblastoma brain cancer for seven months. He passed into eternity with his wife, Jackie, and sister-in-law Donna Fray by his side.
He leaves behind four children: Thomas (Sharon) Bacus of Montrose, Colorado; Timmie Sue (Merrill) Edgerley of Fairbanks, Alaska; Michael Bacus of Durango, Colorado; and Tonya Bacus of Naturita, Colorado; stepchildren Gavin (Ann) Adams of Broomfield, Colorado and Jocelyn (Toby) Maldonado of Las Vegas, Nevada; along with 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, and was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters.
During his working years, JB worked for the Nevada Test Site as a deputy sheriff. He then joined the Nevada Highway Patrol and was stationed in Las Vegas. His last job was with Reddy Ice Plant in Las Vegas as an engineer.
JB joined the Catholic Church in 1988 and joined the Knights of Columbus, where he attained the status of Fourth Degree.
In 1997 he retired with his wife to central Utah to their mountain home, which they completed building in the years prior to retirement. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He then took up ham radio and built his own antennas. He loved getting on twice a day with fellow ham operators from Nevada, California and Arizona.
A funeral Mass was celebrated February 19 at St. George Catholic Church. Committal: Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George.
