June 7, 1958 ~ May 24, 2020
James “Jimmy” Eaquinto, age 61, passed away, joining his sweetheart, on May 24, 2020 in West Jordan, Utah.
Jimmy was born in Price, Utah to Jim and Kathleen (Nelson) Eaquinto. He attended Notre Dame Regional School in Price and graduated from East Carbon High School in 1976.
He had three children with his first wife, Carol, raising Jaymee, Dustin and Audra in Price. He later married his soulmate, Suzi Valdez Eaquinto on September 24, 2005, becoming the best bonus dad to Shanna and Brian. Together, they built a blended family full of love and laughter.
Jimmy loved spending time with his friends and family in the outdoors, including trips to Lake Powell, hunting, golfing and whatever Suzi planned for him. He was up for anything and always the life of the party. His sly smile and dry sense of humor were legendary. Jimmy worked for Utah Power and Light, later PacifiCorp, where he made countless friends over a 42-year career, mostly as a control room operator.
He cared for his parents until their passing and was the rock and constant support to Suzi throughout her battle with cancer before she passed on April 13, 2019.
Jimmy is survived by his kids Jaymee (Pat) Sanderson, Dustin, Audra, Shanna (Josh) Velasquez, and Brian (Katie) Oakley; his grandkids Gianna, Kaden, and Isaac and his special buddy, Joe. Also survived by sweet mother-in-law, Inez Valdez, siblings Bill (Debbie) Eaquinto, Roslyn (Randy) Gunderson, Kathleen (Steve) Wright and Carolyn Howell; sisters-in law Zena (Butch) Robinson, Bobbi (Randy) Mabbutt, Juanita (Willo) Valdez and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were celebrated at the Notre Dame Hope Center in Price by Father Arokia Dass David. Special thank you to Mitchells Funeral Home, Catherine Kane, and the wonderful funeral committee.
