John A. Craven

PRICE — John Arthur Craven died Sept. 23, in Price. He was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish, Price.

Craven was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Provo to Ken and Grace Bowen Craven. John moved to Price in 1951, and married Rose Oliveto June 21, 1952. For the next 54 years, Craven was an icon and fixture in Carbon County owning Johnny’s 66, Mendenhall Auto Parts, and Craven’s NAPA Auto Parts before retiring in 2001. He was a lifetime supporter of the Jaycees, Elks, College of Eastern Utah, and numerous other civic and community organizations.

He is survived by his wife Rose; three children, Arthur John (Vickie) Craven, Louis Kenneth Craven, and Jayceen (Brad) Walker; and nine grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment was in the Price City Cemetery.
