SALT LAKE CITY — John W. Charlton, 35, died Aug. 9, after a long illness with Huntington’s disease. Charlton was born March 27, 1971, in Madrid, Spain, to John W. Charlton and Francis. He attended Vista Elementary and Taylorsville High School. He earned an Associate Degree from Salt Lake Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement and a Sociology degree from Weber State University. He loved martial arts, and assisted Master Robert Fiedler at Tooele High School for many years. He is survived by his parents Wilbert and Francis Lopez; brother, Michael Lopez; special nephew Mikey Lopez; and many uncles, aunts, and other extended family members in the United States and Spain. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Jude Catholic Church. Committal was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
