November 21, 1946 ~ June 20, 2018

Kathleen Ann McGregor Jones, 71, passed away June 20, 2018 at home after a short battle with cancer. She was born November 21, 1946 in Richmond, California to Gordon and Rosemary McGregor. She grew up in Bountiful, Utah and graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School. She married Richard (Ric) Jones on September 6, 1966 in Paris, Idaho; she was devoted to supporting his career and raising their three sons.

Kathleen lived a full life. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Kathy cherished her annual trips to Hawaii with her dear friend Nancy. She enjoyed golf, bridge, and bowling with her many friends. As an avid sports fan, she loved cheering on the Utah Jazz and University of Utah Athletics. She was very involved within the Catholic Church and served as treasurer for the National Council of Catholic Women. She also volunteered with the Utah State Bowling Association and was a member of the Saint Olaf's Council of Women. She was especially proud to be a Blue Star Mother; all three of her sons served in different branches of the military.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her father, Gordon McGregor; her husband, Richard (Ric) Jones; and her father-in-law, William (Bill) Jones. She is survived by her sons: Mark (Janet), Eric (Della) and Stephen (Dawn); her sisters: Peggy (Bart) Rasmussen, Nancy (Ricardo) Saenz, Teresa (Randy) Oster and Mary (Dan) Newman; and her grandchildren: Brittany, Cameron, Jordan, Lukas, Kaitlyn, Joseph and Kimi Indiana Jones. She will be dearly missed.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Saint Olaf Catholic Church, 1800 S. Orchard Drive in Bountiful. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and the rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral. A reception will follow in the McNamara Center.
