SALT LAKE CITY -Students, faculty, and staff at Kearns-Saint Ann School celebrated the Year of the Priest with an assembly honoring their pastor, Msgr. Colin F. Bircumshaw.
To celebrate the Year of the Priest, and in honor of his recent Christ the Teacher award, students at Kearns-Saint Ann School held a special assembly to recognize and thank Msgr. Bircumshaw for being their pastor.
The assembly began with the students singing the Prayer of St. Francis, which is one of his favorite songs. Then, each class presented Msgr. Bircumshaw with a gift. The gifts were short performances of songs, poems, prayers, psalms, and stories. One class presented him with a bag of healthy snacks, and provided cookies for all the students.
Kathleen McMahon, principal, presented him with a vintage book, "Saint Anne, Grandmother of our Lord," which a parent found at a local bookstore.
The assembly ended with a power point presentation on Gratitude, designed by the middle school students.
Msgr. Bircumshaw ended the assembly by addressing the students and letting them know how much he appreciates their Attitude of Gratitude, and that he was grateful for them!
