Salt lake city — Kent Allen Lowe, 55, passed away from a heart attack on Oct. 22, 2014.

He was born Sept. 11, 1959 in Salt Lake City to Reginald J. Lowe Jr. and Renee Allen. 

In his early years, Lowe was a faithful member of The Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints and served two years in the Texas San Antonio Spanish Speaking Mission. He also played the piano and organ in his ward. 

In his later years he became affiliated with the Catholic Church, serving as a sexton at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, and was training to become a Catholic deacon. He loved nature, animals, gardening and music.

He is survived by his sister, Janeen Lowe of Midvale. 

A viewing will be held Wednesday, Oct. 29, 6-8 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. The vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 30, 5:15 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Committal will be Friday, Oct. 31, noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy.
