April 6, 1937 ~ January 30, 2024

Lawrence “Larry” Foss, 86, died January 30, 2024 at his home in South Jordan, surrounded by his loved ones. Larry was born April 6, 1937, in Colome, South Dakota. He earned a business degree in accounting and management. He married his wife, Jerilynn, in 1962. They had two amazing children, Kim and Todd. The family had a wonderful life as Larry and Jeri enjoyed 61 years of marital bliss.

Larry worked as an accountant for over 40 years, even after his official retirement. He was also the proud owner of a bustling nightclub that was sold just months before his death. He worked and resided in many states, including California, Iowa, Mississippi, Wyoming, Tennessee and Utah, his final resting place.

He was a master angler, bowler and golfer. He received the fishing bug from his parents. He was on numerous bowling teams and in many tournaments and even appeared on TV. He enjoyed the outdoors and doing yard work. He spent many hours with his family swimming and playing board games. He was also an avid animal lover and enjoyed birdwatching and the squirrels playing in his backyard. He owned many pets throughout his lifetime and loved them more than words can say.

Larry was old-fashioned, and his word was solid. He was an extremely hard worker and would do anything for anyone. When he committed to something, he could always be counted on to follow it through. His humor was infectious; his smile was like sunshine; his laughter made everyone happy. He will surely be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jerilynn Foss, one daughter Kim Foss, one son Todd and wife Candace Foss, multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents Vern and Ann Foss, an older brother Wayne Foss, and a younger brother Jim Foss.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on February 8, 2024 at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, Cottonwood Heights. Larry was laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salt Lake City.
