Fish Fry — March 8 at St. Thomas More Parish, 3015 E. Creek Road, Sandy. Dinner: 5:30-7:30 p.m.; doors close at 8 p.m. Adults $9; ages 3-12 $6, 2 and under free. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council #11479.

Retreat — Friday-Saturday, March 8-9 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. Hosted by the Militia of the Immaculata Villages, the retreat will include the parish Lenten prayer services on Friday and Day of Reflection with Father Alan Benander, O. Men’s Weekend Retreat — Friday-Sunday, March 8-10 at the Diocese of Salt Lake City’s retreat house, 2610 Aspens Springs, Park City. Sponsored by St. Mary of the Assumption Parish men’s group. Fr. Christopher Gray will be the retreat’s spiritual director. This year’s retreat focus is on “Mary, Mother of Jesus.” For information, call Frank Lesar, 435-655-5782.  

Penance Service — Monday, March 11, 7 p.m. at  St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville. Confession will be heard in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Polish. Everyone is welcome. 

Movie: “G-Dog” – Monday, March 11, 7 p.m. St. Vincent de Paul Parish Holy Family Hall, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. Appropriate for children and families. Feel free to bring snacks and a pillow. The movie is about Jesuit Fr. Greg Boyle, who rescues kids from gangs through the nation’s largest, most successful gang intervention and rehab program, Homeboy Industries.

Fish Fry — March 15, 5-7 p.m. in the St. Rose of Lima Parish social center, 210 Chapel St., Layton. Tickets may be purchased in advance after all Masses. Advanced tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 years of age & under. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Saint Rose of Lima Council 6010.

Movie: “I Can Only Imagine” – Monday, March 25, 7 p.m. St. Vincent de Paul Parish’s Holy Family Hall, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. Appropriate for children and families. Feel free to bring snacks and a pillow. This film, starring Dennis Quaid, was a box office success, winning “Inspirational Film of the Year” at the Dove Awards.

 Movie: “Quiet Heroes” –Monday, March 25, 7 p.m. St. Vincent de Paul Parish’s Holy Family Hall, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. Appropriate for children and families. Feel free to bring snacks and a pillow. This is the story of Dr. Kristen Ries and Maggie Snyder and their work with AIDS patients at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City in the earliest years of the health crisis.

Soup Supper — March 29, 5 p.m. in the St. Rose of Lima Parish Social Center, 210 Chapel Street, Layton. You may bring a soup to share or just come to enjoy the soup and company prior to joining rosary prayers. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Saint Rose of Lima Council 6010.
