Lillian Ibarra Gallegos

OGDEN — Lillian Ibarra Gallegos, 79, died Oct. 3. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Ogden, and also attended Mass at Holy Family Parish, South Ogden.

Gallegos was born April 28, 1927, in Salt Lake City to Martha Carrillo Chavez and Jessie Ibarra. In her younger days, she worked at Auerbach’s Department Store in the Tea Room, where she met Phillip James Gallegos. They were married Dec. 28, 1949, in Durango, Colo. They lived in Salt Lake City early in their marriage, but moved to Roy and then Sunset. She enjoyed going with Phil when he played music with several bands throughout their lives together. Phil died in 2001, and Lillian moved to San Diego, Calif. Family ties brought her back to Ogden where she lived at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living Center.

She is survived by her children, Connie Gallegos, Virginia (Ron) Nichols, Diane (Robert) Fairchild, Gene (JoAnna) Gallegos, Andrea (Bruce) Barnes, Karen McWilliams, Roger (Marilyn) Gallegos, Thomas (Kristine) Gallegos; grandchildren, Dennis, Kim, Jeff, Blake, Jenifer, Corey, Andrew, Natalie, Logan, Michael, Melissa, Zophia, Jack, Nicole, Will, TJ, and Isabella; great grandchild, Kyle; sisters, Helen Ibarra, Theresa Whitehead, Madeleine Radoff, Mary Dominguez, Judy Lesinsky, and Charlene Dock; brothers, Johnny Chavez, Vern Ibarra, Paul Ibarra, Patrick Ibarra, and special uncle Manuel Chavez and Aunt Catherine Chavez, and several extended family members.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Mountain View Memorial Chapel. Interment was in Mountain View Memorial Cemetery.
