Each January, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops highlights the many lives of unborn children lost to abortion through Pro-Life Month efforts. National events include a 9 Days for Life novena Jan. 21-29. In addition, local events are scheduled across the country during the commemoration of the 47th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, which legalized abortion in the U.S.
In the Diocese of Salt Lake City, several events are planned, and local Catholics are strongly encouraged to participate in them.
The Utah March for Life is not affiliated with the diocese but Catholics traditionally join other pro-life leaders and activists in the march at the State Capitol.
