R. Louise Gasparac passed away quietly on May 29, 2016, in Salt Lake City.
Louise was born on Jan. 7, 1923, to Jennie Lake and Joseph Gasparac at Miner’s Hospital in Park City.
Louise grew up in Park City. Her family home was located at 303 Norfolk Ave. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School until it closed, the Jefferson School, Marsac School, and then graduated from Park City High School in 1942. Her favorite subject was music. Louise loved growing up in Park City, hiking in the hills, ice skating behind the post office, sledding and skiing on the mining roads.
In 1945, the Gasparac family moved to Salt Lake City, where Louise worked at Fort Douglas and then for the Newspaper Agency, from which she retired in 1988.
Louise was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She was an avid reader, played the piano and traveled extensively.  She enjoyed attending both the symphony and opera, especially her favorite La Bohème. She loved football and spent many hours watching the Utes, Notre Dame and San Francisco 49ers. Louise’s love of animals, especially dogs and cats, was boundless.
She is survived by her nephews, Kent Gasparac (Diana), Peter Marron (Sharon), and Michael Marron (Kimberly);  nieces Karen Gasparac Dissel (Frederik) and Pamela Marron-Sewell; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Rachel L. Gasparac and Frances G. Marron, brothers Joseph and Frank, and Uncle George.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in her name to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or The Humane Society of Utah.
