SALT LAKE CITY — Lupe "Pigeon" Marie Santillanes, 55, died Oct. 16. Santillanes was born Nov. 12, in Salt Lake City to Edward O’Riley and Maria Garcia Santillanes. She graduated from West High School in 1971. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah as a paralegal. She married Marty Zaragoza. They later divorced. She loved animals and rescued several of them. She is survived by three brothers, Edward, Eugene, and Santos; niece, and nephew, Kathleen and Bruce; and godson, David. A funeral Mass was celebrated at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Committal was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
