KEARNS — St. Francis Xavier School has begun its Annual Drive, featuring this year’s theme of “Make a Difference.”
The school values its diversity in all areas, and many at the school take pride in their vibrant community that is rich in diversity – ethnically, socially and economically. The diverse population of St. Francis Xavier strengthens its community and unites the parents, students, administration, faculty and staff with a shared vision of the morals and values taught at Saint Francis Xavier. Funds donated during the annual drive will assist in technology enhancement, facility renovations and tuition assistance.
This past summer, St. Francis Xavier School started renovations in the campus’ older wing. They were able to re-carpet, repaint and replace the cabinets in two classrooms. Their goal is to renovate a minimum of two classrooms per year.
Mrs. Wood, the third-grade teacher for the past 26 years, was thrilled when she found her classroom had been remodeled.
“I am delighted with my new classroom! I love the red accent wall and especially the beautiful new cupboards,” Mrs. Wood said.
Meanwhile, “Awesome; it’s beautiful,” were the first words out of Mrs. Cremer, the first-grade teacher. “For the first time in the past 28 years, I have a room with counter space that I can do things on with my first-graders. We have an aquarium and a terrarium and will soon be adding an ant farm.”
St. Francis Xavier School has set its goal for the 2014 “Make a Difference” Annual Drive at $20,000. Donations and pledges from parents, alumni, parishioners, faculty and staff, friends and families of St. Francis Xavier School have already started coming in.
If you would like to donate and be a part of the “Make a Difference” annual drive, contact Lisa Rose, 801-966-1571 ext. 118. No investment is too small, and all donations are tax deductible.
