FILMORE — Manuel Aleman 99, died March 7, 2014.

Aleman was born June 14, 1914 in Villa Nueva, Zacatecas, Mexico to Toribio Aleman and Maria Del Refugio Flores. He married Ana Gomez April 6, 1945 in La Boquilla Del Carmen, Villa Nueva, Zacatecas, Mexico.

He was an active member of Holy Family Parish, and wrote many poems and four books in Spanish.

Aleman is survived by his wife, Anna Aleman; children Maria del Carmen (Pancho) Alcala, Ismael (Maria) Aleman, Manuel (Ampelia) Aleman, Maria de los Angeles (Eduardo) Rodriguez, Alicia (Salvador) Garcia, Filiberto (Stephanie) Aleman, Sara (Jorge) Martinez, Luis Alberto (Dalia) Aleman and Ana Maria (Lance) Raygoza; siblings Ma Ingracia Torres, Juanita (Juan Sanchez) Aleman and Maria (Jose M. Avila) Aleman; 33 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; in-laws; Reyes Avila, Catalina Gonzales; and Ma Ingracia Torres.

Aleman was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sara Aleman, sister Jilda Aleman, and brothers Mercedes Aleman and Sabino Aleman.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church.
