SALT LAKE CITY — Mary C. Murphy died April 10.

Murphy was born Sept. 27, 1908, in Terrell, Texas. She attended St. Martin’s Academy in Forney, Texas. She graduated from St. Paul’s Hospital School of Nursing in Dallas, Texas, in 1930. She married Roland Murphy Sept. 1, 1936, in Dallas. She lived for 43 years in Rawlins, Wyo., where she was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a volunteer at the Park Manor Nursing Home. She has lived in Salt Lake City since 1990, where she was a member of the Cathedral of the Madeleine Parish, Cathedral Women’s Society, Catholic Woman’s League, SWORDS (a group for single, widowed, or divorced individuals), and a volunteer at CHRISTUS St. Joseph Villa.

She is survived by one son, The Honorable Michael Roland Murphy, U.S. Court of Appeals, Salt Lake City; three daughters, Patricia Pignanelli, Paula Peterson, both of Salt Lake City, and Mary Lee McNeal, Palo Alto, Calif.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a sister; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Burial was in the Oakland Memorial Cemetery in Terrell, Texas.
