SALT LAKE CITY — Mary O. Maestas, 86, died Dec. 2. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. Maestas was born to Antonio and Eduvjen Gallegos Vigil Dec. 14, 1920, in El Rito, N.M. She married Abe Maestas Sept. 23, 1939, in Grand Junction, Colo. She moved to Salt Lake City in 1940. She was a devoted wife and mother and a devout Catholic. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Abe; five children, Tony (Linn) Maestas, Denver, Colo., Sharon (Jerry) McPolin, Gordon Maestas, Alice (Manuel) Romero, Dave (Kathy) Maestas, 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leo (Viola) Vigil, Tony (Lillie) Vigil; sisters, Archie Baca, El Rito, N.M., Orilea (Louie) Baca, Santa Fe, N.M.; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
